Hornby R2701x BR Class 43 InterCity 125 High Speed Train DCC Fitted

When first introduced onto the main line the Paxman-Valenta powered HSTs bought a new and dynamic excitement to high speed rail travel in the 1970s.

It is therefore quite fitting that the first totally new Hornby Class 43 HST units should carry the original livery of blue and yellow.

Coaches are not included in this set.  They can be purchased additionally.

The powerful Class 43 High Speed Train HST drive and dummy units are a superb match for the Hornby Mk3 InterCity Coaches. Each drive and dummy unit benefits from the latest in design and production techniques with detail features both inside and outside the model being reproduced to the finest degree. The power in the drive unit is supplied by a centrally mounted five pole skew wound motor which is connected to both bogies for maximum tractive effort. Both units have lights which illuminate in the direction of travel when used with analogue control, however, when used with a digital unit these lights can be operated independently.

NB These units are only suitable for operation on second radius curved track or greater.

Please note: Contrary to the instructions included with the new Hornby HST packs and before operating the model, remove both the transit brackets and screws, these items can then be discarded.
