In 1937 and to celebrate the Coronation of George VI, the LNER inaugerated "The Coronation" service which operated between Kings Cross, London and Waverly, Edinburgh.

It was based on the very successful "Silver Jubilee" service which had commenced operation in 1935.

There were five new LNER A4 locomotives that were assignhed to "The Coronation" and they were all named after Commonwealth countries.

This year, two of the five locomotives have been chosen to start the collection and each will be produced in a limited edition of 1000 pieces, each one complete with an authenticating certificate.
